Postdoctoral fellow at the Structural Genomics Group of CNAG-CRG
- Centre / Institution:
- Center for Genomic Regulation
- Bioinformatics expertise:
- Computational Genomics
The Centro Nacional de Análisis Genómico (CNAG-CRG) is one of the largest Genome Sequencing Centers in Europe. CNAG-CRG researchers participate in major International Genomic Initiatives such as the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC), the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC), the International Rare Diseases Research Consortium (IRDiRC) and the European Infrastructure for life-science information (ELIXIR), as well as in several EU-funded projects.
It is integrated with the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG shares principles of an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team that is supported by high-end and innovative technologies and a flexible and efficient administration.
CRG has been conferred with a badge of 'HR Excellence in Research' by the European Commission, in recognition to its progress in implementing the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers, that among others consists of transparent, merit-based recruitment procedures and attractive work-life balance working conditions.
The Structural Genomics Group headed by Marc A. Marti-Renom and hosted at the CNAG and Gene Regulation, Stem Cells and Cancer programs of the CNAG-CRG is seeking a Post-doc to work in the field of 3D Genomics.
Currently, we are looking for candidates with experience in either (preferably both) wet or dry lab settings. Candidates should have a strong background in genome architecture/structure with hands-on experience in either (or both) wet lab relevant technologies (such as Hi-C, Hi-Chip, Chip-Seq or Mycroscopy) or computational methods (NGS data analysis and modelling). If you apply as a wet lab member, experience in 3C-based technologies or similar is a prerequisite. If you apply as a computational person, experience in coding Python or R is a prerequisite.
Please, visit our web site at http://marciuslab.org to grasp the type of projects you could be involved by joining our Team. For all publications from the group please visit http://marciuslab.org/www/publications.
About the team
Our group at the National Center for Genomic Analysis - Centre for Genomic Regulation (CNAG-CRG) develops and uses experimental and computational approaches for characterizing the molecular regulation of cells by studying the structure of macromolecules and their complexes. In particular, we focus on regulatory molecules such as RNA and chromatin.
Our group (http://marciuslab.org/www/people) is very interdisciplinary (the team has been composed by biologists, biochemists, physicists, architects, mathematicians, statisticians, pharmacists, molecular biologists, and geneticists, among others), young (http://marciuslab.org/www/people/?lab_pics), international and dynamic. We struggle to make the stay of our people as fun as possible while enjoying science. If you like such environment, apply to this position!
