Conference The opportunity of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in clinical decision making and health evaluation
06/11/2019 09:30 - 22/10/2019 15:00
The controlled clinical trial as an instrument to evaluate the efficacy and safety of therapeutic interventions is considered the most reliable method from the clinical and regulatory point of view of medicines and medical products. As a present and future opportunity complementary to the clinical trial, the increasing availability of massive data (big data) on health interventions and the digitalization of medicine offer the opportunity to expand our knowledge about medicines and health products in an exponential way. As well as enhancing the possibility of precision medicine by improving the benefit-risk relationship, at the sample or population level and for each individual patient.
Consequently, it is necessary to promote the implementation of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), being necessary to agree on ethical and methodological standards.
Therefore, it is essential:
- increase knowledge about Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Clinical Research Ethics Committees (CEICs), and among the leaders of clinical research in Spain,
- raise awareness of the need to agree on ethical, legal and methodological standards in the use of data,
- increase the sense of urgency, enhance your credibility,
- promote the applications of artificial intelligence in the evaluation of the efficacy, safety, convenience and cost-effectiveness of clinical therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, as well as for clinical decision making and evaluation in Health.
The aim of this Conference is to analyze the advances in the clinical-care field, the needed issues addressed from the legal, social and ethical point of view, as well as the issue from the point of view of clinical research and the regulation of medicines and health products.
This Conference is organized by the Bioinformatics Barcelona (BIB), the Spanish Society of Clinical Pharmacology (SEFC) and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona (UB).
This conference is addressed at scientists, technologists, bioinformatics, members of research ethics committees, regulators, clinical researchers, directors of information systems of research centers, legal services, research managers, innovation managers, pharmaceutical industry, representative associations of the sector and politicians.
Free attendance with limited places.
